Lady Diana Spencer was born into a privileged aristocratic family in Norfolk England. Her father was the Viscount of Althorp, which granted the family a large ancestral estate. Her childhood was spent in the open English countryside caring for pets, cavorting with royalty, and although a poor student, attending proper boarding schools. A divorce separating her parents exposed young Diana to suffering, but otherwise her life was extraordinarily charmed.
